It's always fun working with friends on a project they wrote themselves. Jim Ruch and I have known each other for over thirty years and when he wanted to get a professional design for his novel he contacted me. Jim created our Vegas wedding video and it was quite a unique compilation of music, photos, and video taken during the ceremony.

Chef Chronicle is an intriguing story that Jim has been fine-tuning for decades. He provided the raw manuscript and I copyedited it with him until it was ready for layout. The design incorporates Bernhard Modern and Adobe Garamond fonts giving it a classic old-school flair. The cover design we created together features three photographs from Jim's travels.

As most modern day authors want their books to be in all possible formats, I produced eBook files as well and he has an audiobook coming soon. You can order the paperback, hardcover, or a Kindle book on Amazon.com. The paperback, hardcover, or Ebook is available on BarnesAndNoble.com, and the Epub is available on Kobo.com.

Client Testimonial

January 26, 2026

"Phyllis is always one step ahead and happily patient to show the way. Through the copyediting process, design, layout, and all the way to publication. What I most appreciate is having a seasoned professional to work with who has a vertical understanding of book publishing from manuscript layout to Ebook and printer specs across various distributor platforms. I thought I could handle all of this but quickly realized it was best to hand this off to a professional and focus on my own art. We’re starting on my next project and I’m already one step ahead. Thanks again Phyllis!"
